Every effect, one keypress away.
Press ⌃ Space over your timeline, type a few letters and hit Enter. GlueFX puts the effect, transition or saved preset on every clip you've selected. You never open the Effects panel or drag anything.
the real search box, recreated ↑
Three keys between you and the next effect.
Select your clips
One clip or fifty, on any tracks. Video effects go on video clips and audio effects on audio clips.
Press ⌃ Space
The search box opens at your mouse, showing your favourites and recent picks before you type anything.
Type, then Enter
A few letters is enough. Enter applies it to every selected clip, and ⌘ Z undoes it like anything else.
Everything Premiere has installed, plus everything you've saved.
GlueFX reads Premiere's own lists each time it starts, so new plugins show up without any setup.
Video effects
Every built-in effect and every third-party one: FilmConvert, Film Impact, Boris FX and the rest.
Transitions
Placed on the start, the end or both ends of each clip, at the length you set in frames.
Audio
Audio effects and audio transitions, for the audio clips you've selected.
Your saved presets
Every preset in your Effects panel, including the ones tucked away in folders.
gblur finds Gaussian Blur
xdis finds Cross Dissolve
lc finds Lumetri Color
Your presets, one keypress away.
Years of saved looks, punch-ins and text animations usually sit three folders deep in the Effects panel. GlueFX searches them by name and applies them with their settings and keyframes, placed the way you saved them:
Built by an editor, for the hundredth effect of the day.
Favourites ⌘D
Star what you use daily. Favourites sit at the top before you type, and rank higher when you do.
Recents
Your last twelve picks wait in the empty search box, so repeating an effect is ⌃Space, Enter.
Opens at your mouse
The box appears where you're already looking. Click anywhere else or press Esc and it's gone.
Your shortcut
Keep ⌃Space or pick any combination. It only works while Premiere is in front, so other apps keep their keys.
A dockable panel too
The same search as a Premiere panel, with filters, transition settings and clickable results.
Stays on your Mac
No account to create. GlueFX goes online only to check your licence key, and doesn't collect anything about you or your projects.
One installer, four parts that work together.

Good to know
New effects land at the top of the effect stack. Premiere doesn't let tools choose the position, so drag an effect down in Effect Controls when the order matters.
Presets are rebuilt, not copied. Premiere has no command for applying a preset, so GlueFX recreates each one from your presets file. Most come out identical; the ones that can't are marked before you apply them.
Effects a preset needs but you don't have are skipped, and GlueFX tells you which.
Before you install
How do I get GlueFX?
Buy it on Gumroad for $10, once. Your download and licence key arrive straight away, and one licence works on 2 Macs.
Why does macOS ask me to approve the installer?
GlueFX isn't registered with Apple yet, so the first time you open the installer macOS asks you to allow it: System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Open Anyway. You only do this once. The User Guide in the download shows each step.
Will it clash with my Premiere shortcuts?
GlueFX only listens for its own shortcut, and only while Premiere is the app in front. If you already use ⌃Space in Premiere, pick another shortcut in GlueFX Settings.
Does it work with my plugins?
Yes. GlueFX lists whatever Premiere lists, including third-party effects and transitions. Click ↻ in the GlueFX panel after installing a new plugin.
I have more than one keyboard language. Is ⌃Space a problem?
macOS uses ⌃Space to switch input sources. GlueFX warns you when that's the case, and you can choose a different shortcut in Settings.
Is it safe to install?
GlueFX runs entirely on your Mac and uses no third-party code. It reads Premiere's effect list and your presets file, never changes the presets file, and keeps its own settings in your Library folder. The uninstaller removes every part.
When is Windows coming?
The Premiere side already runs on Windows. The pop-up search box is being rebuilt as a Windows app; email me to hear when it's ready.
